Submit a recording
If you carry a tune from your shul, your yeshiva, your father or your hometown, it belongs here. Recordings from any Orthodox tradition are welcome, whether polished or sung into a phone.
Two steps
- Upload the audio. The link opens a secure upload page; no account is needed. MP3, M4A, WAV or a video file all work. Name the file with the prayer, the tradition and your name, for example Lecha Dodi – Ashkenaz – Y. Cohen.mp3.
- Tell us about it. Fill in the form so the recording is filed under the right prayer and tradition, with credit the way you want it.
Guidelines
- One prayer, or one continuous section of a service, per file.
- Sing the words as they are said in davening; a full run-through is more useful than a highlight.
- Record somewhere quiet. Phone recordings are fine.
- Tell us whose tune it is, if you know: a chazzan, a shul, a city, a rebbe's court.
- By submitting you confirm you have the right to share the recording and allow the archive to publish it for public and research use, credited as you choose.
